JoAnn Maurer Wever Excellence in Nursing Education Awards
This Award for Excellence in Nursing Education in the Commonwealth of Kentucky will be presented to two outstanding academic nurse educators yearly during the annual business meeting of the Kentucky League for Nursing. The honor will recognize significant contribution to excellence and innovation in nursing education contributing to the preparation of the nursing workforce in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

KLN Nursing Faculty Doctoral Scholarship
The scholarship for $500 is being awarded as a one-time only gift to qualified nurse applicants.
Applicants must have:
-
Current membership in KLN and be a participant in the Annual Meeting of the KLN
-
Active, unrestricted Kentucky nursing license
-
Acceptance into an accredited program leading to a doctoral degree in nursing or related field
-
Intent to remain in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to teach in an undergraduate or graduate level program of nursing
-
Additional documents as noted on the application form.
Recipients agree to present their work in a poster or podium presentation during the KLN Annual Conference the following year.
KLN Nursing Faculty Scholarship for the
Certified Nurse Educator Examination
This $500 scholarship is to be awarded annually as a one-time-only gift to qualified nurse applicants for the purpose of obtaining or renewing individual Certified Nurse Educator credentialing via the CNE exam.
Applicants must have:

Current membership in KLN and be a participant in the Annual Meeting of the KLN
-
Earned graduate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program
-
Active, unrestricted Kentucky nursing license
-
Employment as faculty in a KBN approved nursing program
-
Intent to remain in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to teach in an accredited nursing program
-
Additional documents as noted on application form.
Recipients agree to submit evidence of CNE testing or renewal within one year of award. Failure to do so will require return of award.
KLN Service Scholarship

The scholarship for $500 is awarded annually as a one-time only gift to an instructor or nursing program to offset the cost of a service learning project or medical mission project.
Applicants must have:

Current membership in KLN and be a participant in the Annual Meeting of the KLN
-
Active, unrestricted Kentucky nursing license
-
Intent to remain in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to teach in an undergraduate or graduate level program of nursing.
Recipients agree to present their work in a poster or podium presentation during the KLN Annual Conference the following year.
Kentucky League for Nursing Research Award
The scholarship for $500 is a one-time award to assist nurse educators conducting research to add to the body of evidence regarding nursing education.
Applicants must have:

Current membership in KLN and be a participant in the Annual Meeting of the KLN
-
Active, unrestricted Kentucky nursing license
-
A current position as a nurse educator in the Commonwealth of Kentucky teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Applicants must prepare a written proposal including:

Description of the research project and specifically identify how the money will be used.

Documentation of research approved by Institutional Review Board.
Recipients agree to present their work in a poster or podium presentation during the KLN Annual Conference the following year.

The scholarship for $1000 is being awarded by NurseThink to a KLN member pursuing a graduate degree with the intent of teaching.
Applicants must have:

Current membership in KLN and be a participant in the Annual Meeting of the KLN

Active, unrestricted Kentucky nursing license
-
Acceptance into an accredited graduate level program leading to a degree in nursing or related field at either the masters or doctoral level

Intent to remain in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to teach in an undergraduate or graduate level program of nursing.
